Chad Tranter

BACS, CFP®, CLU

Partner

From the very start of his career in the financial services industry, Chad wanted to provide financial advice and solutions with a personalized touch. In his view, a trusted advisor should be focused on building long-term relationships and understanding all aspects of a client’s personal and professional financial needs. The goal: putting purpose behind their planning. “I’ve always thought of my role as a personal CFO to our clients, helping them set a vision for the lifestyle they want to achieve, then providing the advice they need to stay on track and manage risk.”

After completing a degree in finance and economics at the University of Western Ontario, Chad earned designations as a Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Life Underwriter. From 2002 to 2021, he served as a senior advisor with Creative Planning Financial Group and as a partner with Franklin Tranter and Associates. As a Bridgewell founding partner, Chad views financial planning through an integrated lens, delivering insurance solutions and financial strategies that incorporate aspects of tax, estate, retirement, shareholder agreement and family planning. He serves a diverse group of clients that includes business owners, professionals and their families.

Chad is an active member of CALU, The Estate Planning Council of Toronto and past executive board member of Advocis Toronto Chapter.

A few things you should know about Chad:
He spends much of his downtime being active in the outdoors—usually on a pair of skis or a bike—with his family. Passionate about giving back to the community, Chad is a major supporter of Youth Unlimited and various cancer and medical research charities. He has completed several fundraising endurance events including an Ironman Triathlon in support of the Sanfilippo Children’s Research Foundation. Chad enjoys cottaging in the Kawarthas with his family during the summer months, and is the founder of Cottage Succession, an organization that helps Canadians manage the legal and financial aspects of passing a cottage to the next generation.
